Tim Pigott
Founder & Head Coach
Tim is a sports physiotherapist, university academic and endurance coach, with over 20yrs experience working with beginners through to international & Olympic athletes from a multitude of sports. Coupled with nutrition coaching (Precision Nutrition 1), Strength & Conditioning, Retül Bike Fit (IBFI 4), British Triathlon level2 and British Athletics Coach in Running Fitness, he can help you return to, or realise your potential. His area of expertise is working with athletes who have been struggling with illness or injury and returning them to peak performance, particularly the longer distance events.
This coupled with his own experience as a multisport athlete returning to competition after serious trauma places him in a unique position to particularly help guide and coach athletes back to peak performance following injuries or layoffs. He has been racing for 30years from 1500m track to 100mile+ trail and mountain races, sprint triathlons through to Ironman, and everything in between. Tim has coached athletes working towards their first marathon, through to elite runners and triathletes’ competing on the world stage. As a university researcher in physio & biomechanics, Tim is passionate about taking cutting-edge research and applying it to our athletes in the field.

Morgan Ogle
Strength and Conditioning Coach
Morgan has an MSc. in Strength and Conditioning from Loughborough University as well as a BSc. in Sport and Exercise Science. Whilst completing her MSc. Morgan worked as an assistant S&C coach for both the Loughborough University Cycling team and Women’s Rugby Union team, where she gained invaluable knowledge around the physiological demands of elite sport.
Growing up in Australia Morgan’s passion for sport started from a young age, having played just about every sport before Touch Rugby became her priority. Two years after moving to England Morgan was selected in the England Women’s Open Touch Rugby Team to compete at the 2013 European Championships in Wales and has been involved in the England Touch setup ever since.
Morgan has a keen interest in exploring research around the physiological differences between males and females and the importance these differences play in informing S&C programme design, understanding individual performance and response to training. As part of her MSc. Morgan conducted a research project on the effects of low energy availability on cardiovascular health in eumenhorreic females. The effects of low energy availability on health and performance has become an increasingly important topic that is relevant to both male and female endurance athletes. Morgan uses her knowledge within this area and passion to raise greater awareness to help the athletes she works with.

Ed Milbourn
Endurance Coach
Ed has been involved in coaching for over 10years and has qualifications that reflect his diverse interests (Triathlon England Level 2 diploma, England Athletics running coach & run leader, British Cycling ride leader).
He is an ultra endurance athlete of even more years experience from ultra running to double ironman through multiday bikepacking and most things inbetween.
He loves to work with people starting out on a new journey or push themselves on further and faster adventures combining structured physical training with the mental, organisation, self management & problem solving skills needed for success at ultra distances.

Gregg Coull
Endurance Coach
Gregg has been involved in triathlon for over 2 decades; and over the years finished 5x Ironman and multiple 70.3/middle distance races. As well as completing multi-day cycling adventures including LEJOG and NC500.
Most recently he has switched his focus to ultra running - completing 50km to 113km races as well as a 2-day stage race, and is currently training towards the West Highland Way Race.
Gregg first started coaching when he was 16 getting his British Triathlon L1 to be able to assist at his local triathlon club. He is now a TrainingPeaks Level 2, UESCA Ultrarunning Coach, IRONMAN Coach and Scottish Athletics Leader in Running Fitness.
He works with a range of abilities, from novices to the sport of triathlon/ultra running right through to experienced athletes who are regularly competing at Euro/World AG Championships.

Liz Mahon
Nutritionist
Liz is a registered nutritionist with the Association for Nutrition, has a PhD in Endurance Sports Nutrition and a postgraduate diploma in sports nutrition with the International Olympic Committee.
For over a decade Liz has worked as a lecturer, researcher and practitioner in the fields of both public health and sport. She has developed and led research-informed degree programmes in Sport, Nutrition and Health at Liverpool John Moores and Glyndwr Universities and as a result, her own practise is similarly evidence-based. She has worked with many organisations, sports clubs and athletes providing nutritional guidance; assessment of dietary intake; body composition analysis; and fuelling and catering for events. Liz enjoys opening up new areas for possible improvement by helping clients focus on how nutrition can complement their work and training.
As an athlete herself, she understands the challenges of training and fuelling correctly. Liz’s main passion is being in the mountains and trail running but also enjoys triathlon and multisport racing, having competed at all distances from sprint through to Ironman. She previously trained as a mountain leader and worked as a glacier guide, so has an interest in sport and nutrition in extreme environments.

Amy Whitehead
Sport & Exercise Psychologist
Amy is a HCPC registered Sport and Exercise Psychologist accredited through the British Psychological Society and is a Reader (Associate Professor) in Sport Psychology and Coaching at Liverpool John Moores University. Amy has a PhD in Sport Psychology, and her research focusses on attentional focus and understanding athlete and coach cognition during performance.
Amy has been working as an applied Sport and Exercise Psychologist over the last 10 years and supports a wide range of athletes and coaches, from grassroots/recreational to elite performances. She also has a mixed sporting background, playing national league basketball, ultra-running and more recently, triathlon and duathlon. In the summer 2021, Amy completed her first Ironman triathlon (IM UK) and qualified for the European Championships in standard distance duathlon.
As a Sport and Exercise Psychologist, Amy offers a wide range of support to athletes, such as (but not limited to) general lifestyle support, motivational issues, overcoming certain stressors, coping under pressure, maintaining focus during training and competition and employing appropriate pacing strategies.

Kate Disley
Performance Pilates Instructor
Kate has over 15 years hands on experience working as a Sports Massage Therapist. She holds a sports degree from Durham University, is a Gold Member of the SMA and trained with the APPI in both Matwork and Performance Pilates.
Kate has worked with several sport teams including Durham City RFC, Novos RFC as well as individual athletes from elite runners and cyclists to junior gymnasts, squash players and local harriers’ groups.
With a background in Sports, Kate has turned her hand to most things, previously playing elite level Rugby Union for over 20 years. Having suffered her share of injuries she has a huge amount of compassion and understanding when treating sports injuries.
She offers Pilates on a one to one basis and in a class setting at various levels. With her understanding of sport and injury management her Performance Pilates classes are renowned among her patients for being challenging, supportive and focused to help improve sports performance.

Helen Leigh
Coach & Mountain Leader
Helen is a run leader and summer mountain leader, and currently undertaking her British Athletics Coach in Running Fitness qualification. She has a degree in Sport and Exercise Science and is a qualified massage therapist.
Previously a rower to a national level and with a Guinness World Record for rowing across the Atlantic, in recent years Helen has become a competitive mountain and ultra runner, winning the Lakes in a Day 50mile race and the 4-day coast to coast adventure race.
She hopes to constantly inspire others to reach their potential and to pass on her experiences of training and racing through her coaching.

Joe Horne
Coach & Research lead / Mental Health Specialist
In his teens Joe had no interest in sport but in his early 20’s became a British Triathlon Coach (L2), sub 3 marathoner, multiple Ironman finisher (including Ironman World Championships in Kona) and keen ultra runner. With a background in mental health nursing he now works as a health research fellow and industry manager in the NHS.

Howard Hurst
Nutrition coach / Sports Scientist
Howard has over 15years experience as a Senior lecturer in Sport, Exercise & Nutritional Science, who’s qualifications include; Phd in Sport Science, M.Phil Sport Science, BSc (Hons) Sport, Physical Education and IT, ISAK Level 1 Anthropometrist, Registered Nutritionist for Sport (RNutr) with the Association for Nutrition, and British Cycling Club Coach.
He works with individual athletes and teams from beginners through to professional athletes including Team Madison-Genesis Professional Cycling, Team Wiggins Professional Cycling, GB Age Group Triathletes, Swedish National and Olympic Mountain Bike teams, as well as elite & amateur marathon and ultra-marathon runners.
As an athlete himself, he has over 25 years of racing experience in running and cycling and now competes in triathlons at all distances from Sprint to Ironman and has completed running events from 5km to 80km ultra marathons. This has given him a wealth of personal, practical experience to back up his academic qualifications.

Bianca Broadbent
Bike fitter / Physio
Bianca, has a background in sports physiotherapy, and over 10 years’ experience working with a multitude of athletes from a variety of sports.
She is highly experienced in cycling medicine, and up until recently was the lead practitioner for biomechanics at the Boardman Performance Centre in Evesham. As a result, Bianca has developed a unique set of skills not only in bike fitting but also understanding the role that aerodynamics has in optimising performance for amateur and pro athletes alike. She has a special interest in the role of the pelvis and lower limb in cycling performance, and recognises that a position must be strong and stable for an athlete to succeed.
Bianca works closely with HP3 on research projects, as well as producing educational material and courses for physiotherapists and bike fitters in order to continually improve the knowledge and skills of our professions.

Emily Couldwell
Business & Marketing Manager
Emily has over 14 years marketing experience and has worked with brands including Vauxhall, Volkswagen, Soreen, Guinness and Johnnie Walker.
In her teens Emily was a keen horse rider and competed as part of the Junior British Dressage team. More recently, she has gone from being a non-runner to completing her first half-marathon and is contemplating one day doing a marathon.
HP3 is also a training company, developing the next generation of coaches. These are some of the students currently working with us.

Molly Hails
Post-graduate student – Sport Psychology MSc, at Liverpool John Moores University
After earning her undergraduate degree in Sport Coaching BSc at Liverpool John Moores University, Molly discovered a deep passion for sport psychology. This led her to carry on her academic studies at the same university and is currently pursuing a Sport Psychology MSc.
Molly has always been a dedicated athlete taking part in sport whenever she can, with a specific focus on athletics, football and more currently playing handball for her university. Playing country cricket for many years, alongside coaching different sports at varying ages and abilities is what ignited Molly’s passion to pursue a career in sport. Having recently gained experience collaborating with sport psychologists, Molly is eager to delve deeper into athlete motivation, looking at the 'why’ of athletes, helping them to stay driven, set goals and reach success.

Alyssia Griffiths-Gray
Post-graduate student – Sport Psychology MSc, at Liverpool John Moores University
Alyssia gained her undergraduate degree in Sport and Exercise Psychology from Loughborough University. She is now completing a Sport Psychology MSc at Liverpool John Moores University.
Alyssia has a mixed sports background, including participating in orienteering competitions, county netball and many more. However, her main passion for over ten years was playing football, where she competed in the East Midlands Premier League. Her love for sports led her to work with the City Council and non-profit organisations to make exercise accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
As a swimming coach, Alyssia is particularly interested in the coach-athlete relationship and has been researching this topic for her undergraduate and post-graduate research projects.
She is excited to put all her knowledge into action to help the team at HP3.

Daniel Thomas
Undergraduate student – BSc (Hons) Sports Science, at University of Salford.
Dan is in his early 20’s and currently studying Sport Science, specifying in sport psychology for is final year. With a wide range of interests in endurance sport, he is keen to explore goal setting, motivations, and mental skills utilised in endurance sports. In his teenage years competitive cross-country running was his first step into the world of outdoor and adventure sports which grew into a passion for cycling. This pushed him towards the disciplines of downhill and enduro riding. Recently he has completed his first season as a downhill athlete, in which he achieved three podiums and the title of senior Welsh champion. His passion for outdoor and adventure sports has led to the pursuit of a career in this field.

Max Saleh
Undergraduate student - Exercise and Nutrition as Medicine BSc. at Salford University.
With a keen interest in a wide range of endurance sports, including the impact of different forms of training and recovery techniques, Max is currently studying Exercise and Nutrition as Medicine BSc. at Salford University.
Despite only beginning focused training in his early 20’s, he has gone from strength to strength in recent years, completing various personal challenges such as The Limestone Way – a 46mile running route – and the UK Ironman. Max’s long-time passion for hiking and outdoor activities has most recently resulted in him undertaking a Summer Mountain Leader qualification and after more training is hoping to be fully qualified by next summer.
