The Spine is known as one of the world’s most demanding endurance events, stretched across 268 miles of unforgiving terrain in the depths of British winter. It pushes competitors to their physical and mental limits.

Among the many challenges, lack of sleep is often magnified in ultra endurance races with each hour of missed sleep, increasing the strain on both mind and body. Compared to training and nutrition, sleep is often viewed as ‘down time’.
