1. Purpose

At HP3, we are committed to fostering an inclusive environment where everyone feels respected, valued, and supported. This policy outlines our approach to promoting equality, embracing diversity, and ensuring inclusion in all aspects of our coaching services.

2. Legal Framework

This policy aligns with the Equality Act 2010, which prohibits discrimination on the basis of the following protected characteristics:

  • Marriage and civil partnership

  • Pregnancy and maternity

  • Race

  • Religion or belief

  • Sex

  • Sexual orientation

3. Scope

This policy applies to:

  • Athletes: Ensuring equitable access to coaching services.

  • Staff and Contractors: Promoting diversity and fairness in recruitment, training, and interactions.

  • Stakeholders: Upholding EDI principles in all business relationships.

4. Commitments

4.1. Equality

  • Provide equal access to coaching opportunities for all athletes, irrespective of their background or circumstances.

  • Ensure decisions regarding training plans, athlete support, and service delivery are free from bias.

4.2. Diversity

  • Value and celebrate the unique contributions of individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Encourage diverse perspectives in shaping coaching strategies and business practices.

4.3. Inclusion

  • Create a welcoming environment where everyone feels a sense of belonging.

  • Provide reasonable adjustments to ensure inclusivity, particularly for individuals with disabilities or specific needs.

5. Responsibilities

5.1. HP3 Leadership

  • Ensure compliance with the Equality Act 2010.

  • Regularly review and update policies and practices to promote EDI.

  • Provide training to staff on recognising and addressing unconscious bias.

5.2. Coaches and Staff

  • Treat all athletes and colleagues with dignity and respect.

  • Recognise and respond to individual needs, including making reasonable adjustments where necessary.

5.3. Athletes

  • Respect the rights and dignity of fellow athletes, staff, and coaches.

  • Report any concerns regarding discrimination, harassment, or exclusion promptly.

6. Reporting and Complaints

  • HP3 takes allegations of discrimination, harassment, or other EDI-related concerns seriously.

  • Any concerns should be reported to EDI Officer via info@hp-3.co.uk

  • All reports will be handled confidentially and investigated thoroughly.

7. Implementation and Monitoring

  • Awareness: HP3 will ensure this policy is communicated to all staff and athletes.

  • Monitoring: EDI practices will be regularly reviewed to identify areas for improvement.

  • Continuous Improvement: Feedback will be sought to refine and enhance inclusivity efforts.

8. Breaches of Policy

  • Non-compliance with this policy by staff, contractors, or athletes may result in disciplinary action or termination of services.

  • HP3 reserves the right to address breaches in a manner that upholds the principles of equality, diversity, and inclusion.

9. Review

This policy will be reviewed annually or in response to changes in legislation or organisational needs.
